Paul had travelled through Asia Minor, and when he arrived in Galatia he realized they had already fallen away from the teachings of the Gospel of grace. The Judaizers were a group of Jews who tried to put the Church back under the Law by telling people it was necessary for them to keep the Law of Moses before exercising faith in Jesus for salvation. Jesus came to set us free from sin and the Law...

2-21-24Tonight Pastor Phil finishes up Chapter 3 of Romans. He touched on Condemnation that came through the Law, and the power of God's Word to save through freedom in Christ, and His finished work on the Cross. Tonight we continue in the section of scripture where Paul points out justification by faith comes in trusting in Jesus and the qualities of true saving faith.Righteousness can only come from Jesus, and His finished work, not being a deed keeper or religion— to be made right with God, we need to be reconciled to Him through Jesus... It's a gift, and not earned.Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'. 1-24-24Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Chapter 3 of Romans. He touched on Condemnation that came through the Law, and the power of God's Word to save through freedom in Christ, and His finished work on the Cross. Tonight we move into the section of scripture where Paul points out justification by faith comes in trusting in Jesus.Righteousness can only come from Jesus, and His finished work, not being a deed keeper or religion— to be made right with God, we need to be reconciled to Him through Jesus... It's a gift, and not earned.Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'. So if he shared the Gospel there, whomever received it would carry God's Word, and the testimonies of Paul and the work they'd seen done out into the four corners of the world.Often referred to as the Gospel according to Paul, and the greatest book ever written, Paul's letter to the Romans will become our focus as Pastor Phil continues to lead us through the Word of God.Calvary Chapel Elk Grove is a non-denominational fellowship located in Roselle, a northwest suburb of Chicago in Illinois.This weeks' Video Message:This weeks' study notes:
