As Pastor Phil moves through Chapter 4 of Galatians, today he shares yet another dangerous 'religion' that man faces that come from doctrines of demons - the human potential movement, or secular humanism. As we learn, it still stems from the original lie spoken in the Garden to Eve - that we can become a god - by our own strength and potential.
Paul had travelled through Asia Minor, and when he arrived in Galatia he realized they had already fallen away from the teachings of the Gospel of grace. The Judaizers were a group of Jews who tried to put the Church back under the Law by telling people it was necessary for them to keep the Law of Moses before exercising faith in Jesus for salvation. Jesus came to set us free from sin and the Law...

6-26-24Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Romans, Chapter 6. In Romans 6 we learn that because of the finished work on the Cross that sin no longer has ahold of us. That we've been free from the power of sin and death! Does that mean that because grace abounds we should sin more because it's covered? Absolutely not! Because of this freedom we should want to live more for Him!In Romans, Chapters 3-5 we learn that we are free from the penalty of sin. The theme was Justification (salvation)—as a Christian this refers to my position before God—the emphasis here is on being.Now, in Romans Chapters 6-8 we will learn that we are free from the power of sin. The theme we'll see through these chapters is Sanctification—this refers to my practice for God—the emphasis here is on doing.***Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'.
