    12-18-24

Tonight Pastor Phil continues in Romans, Chapter 8. In Romans 6 through Romans 8 we learn that because of the finished work on the Cross—sin no longer has ahold of us. That we are dead TO sin because of the finished work of Jesus, whereas before we were saved we were dead IN sin.

In Romans Chapters 7 & 8, Paul continues to bring home the point of what the sanctification process is in a believer. In tonight's verses we see his reflection on his own heart and examines it in comparison to Jesus. That Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death.

Romans Chapter 8 is one of the most comforting chapters in the Bible—in fact it is God’s prescription for troubled hearts, His special remedy for the devil’s ‘guilt trips.’

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:1 — Brothers & Sisters: Memorize this verse to use against the enemy of your soul!

    ***

Paul chose Rome for a reason when he went out to preach. Firstly, because God had sent him, but because Rome was a central 'point of the world' as 'all roads lead to Rome'. So if he shared the Gospel there, whomever received it would carry God's Word, and the testimonies of Paul and the work they'd seen done out into the four corners of the world.

Often referred to as the Gospel according to Paul, and the greatest book ever written, Paul's letter to the Romans will become our focus as Pastor Phil continues to lead us through the Word of God.

Pastor Phil of Calvary Chapel continues in the topical study of The Book of Galatians. Today we are in Part 13 of Liberty For Life, as he teaches on the practical passages shared by Paul on victorious Christian living in Chapter 5.

When we become believers we put on the new man. All things become new by the power of God's Spirit. However—until we are face to face with Jesus, our self—or old man—or flesh will continue to war against the Spirit within us. It is only by God's grace and transforming power that we can withstand the war and walk in victory through Christ. Today Pastor Phil teaches on walking in The Spirit.

Paul had travelled through Asia Minor, and when he arrived in Galatia he realized they had already fallen away from the teachings of the Gospel of grace. The Judaizers were a group of Jews who tried to put the Church back under the Law by telling them it was necessary for them to keep the Law of Moses before exercising faith in Jesus for salvation. Jesus came to set us free from sin and the Law...

    Topical Series
    Pastor Phil Ballmaier
    Calvary Chapel Elk Grove
    11-24-24

Pastor Phil of Calvary Chapel normally teaches the Bible verse-by-verse, but we are taking a topical approach to The Book of Galatians. Today we are in Part 11 of our next section of Galatians, "Liberty For Life" as we continue in Chapter 5.

When we become believers we put on the new man. All things become new by the power of God's Spirit. However—until we are face to face with Jesus, our self—or old man—or flesh will continue to war against the Spirit within us. It is only by God's grace and transforming power that we can withstand the war and walk in victory through Christ.

Paul had travelled through Asia Minor, and when he arrived in Galatia he realized they had already fallen away from the teachings of the Gospel of grace. The Judaizers were a group of Jews who tried to put the Church back under the Law by telling people it was necessary for them to keep the Law of Moses before exercising faith in Jesus for salvation. Jesus came to set us free from sin and the Law...

Tonight Pastor Phil begins Romans, Chapter 8.

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:1 — Brothers & Sisters: Memorize this verse to use against the enemy of your soul!

Often referred to as the Gospel according to Paul, and the greatest book ever written, Paul's letter to the Romans will become our focus as
Pastor Phil continues to lead us through the Word of God.
