NEXT STEPS

So have you made a decision for Christ?  You are probably wondering—what's next?!
Here are just a few things to get you started on your journey as a new believer...

Read The Bible
The best place to start is to get to know the Author of the Bible.  We recommend starting your quest in the Gospel of John, of the New Testament.

We recommend the New King James Version (NKJV) and/or The NLT Bible (New Living Translation).  These are most frequently used at our services.

Need a Bible?  Please reach out to us using the form below, or ask a pastor at Sunday Service or Wednesday night.

In the meantime, online you can find The Blue Letter Bible. They also offer a mobile app. Take God's Word with you everywhere!
Find a Bible-teaching church
Having a firm foundation in a biblically-based church (or fellowship) is critical at this point in your new life in Christ.

We welcome you here at Calvary Chapel Elk Grove!

We meet at:
975 E. Nerge Road, Suite N-140 in Roselle, Illinois
Sundays at 8:30 & 10:30 AM
Wednesdays at 7 PM.

However if you're not in the area there are other Calvary Chapels throughout the U.S.

Why Calvary Chapel? We are confident in recommending Calvary as it is our ethos' or mission to study the Bible verse-by-verse. From front cover to back. Sadly, many churches are moving away from this.

Why is this time so important?
Being rooted and grounded in God's Word is critical at this time. You may have doubts, and may receive resistance from those around you—particularly family and friends.

But the Bible says that when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior we become "a new creation."

2 Corinthians 5:17  (NKJV)
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
Talk with God...
Start talking to God. Praying doesn't have to be elaborate "speak", but a conversation with a Savior Who loves you—and knows you!

Ask Him to lead you into all truths, and that He would pour out The Holy Spirit to give you understanding.
Get plugged in
Attending church is awesome.

You'll learn tons, meet other believers and have a lot of questions at this stage in your "walk" with God. Write those questions down.

Finding a small home group is the perfect place to start. Our home fellowship groups meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays and are spread out in the local suburban areas.

'Disciple'-ship comes in the form of other believers coming alongside you and helping you to grow in the truths of God. But God has also sent a Helper—The Holy Spirit, Who will open your eyes to God in wondrous ways!

Talk with our Pastors. They'd love the opportunity to guide you during this time. Fill out the form below and we will contact you.

Calvary Chapel also offers men and women's bible studies. Check the church calendar and bulletin for these.

Discipleship Series

Building a strong foundation is important at this time in your walk.
Pastor Phil has created a foundational series for new believers,
designed to help you learn basic biblical truths.

You can download and print these, or just take them with you!
They are easily accessible on all of your mobile devices.
